The Plough
The Plough

A Warm Welcome to The Plough

(Not just any country pub)!

A country pub with tremendous character and history; I am John the landlord and I am enjoying my fourth year as a Manston resident. I am under no illusion that the Plough must maintain its tradition as a friendly “country local” serving Real Ales and good food, sourced locally where possible.  A pub, where both locals and passers-by alike can relax in a friendly atmosphere.

It’s not a “family owned” pub, but the staff here are very much “a family”. My friendly and hard-working team of Tina, Mel, Sue, Ruth, Lauren, Laura, Nathan, Vicky and Bernice share the same ethos as I do and will look after you fully.  They, like me, do not want anyone to leave The Plough having not had the best of service.  We don’t profess to being a high class restaurant or bistro. We are a pub! We do however work hard on our service, friendliness, helpfulness and presentation and try to cater for most tastes and budgets.

There may be the odd occasion where we get it slightly wrong- tell me any pub that doesn’t?  If that is the case though, then you must inform one of the staff and we won’t be happy until we have made sure that you are fully satisfied and if need be, compensated.  Please note that no service charge is ever applied. That is very much up to you to reward what you feel is good service from my staff.
